                            Technology to Consumers

NEW YORK, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- CompassWare Development today announced the preview release of ChannelMagnet(TM) 1.0, the first personal webcast filtering add-on to Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0. ChannelMagnet enables users to filter Active Channel(TM) content from hundreds of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 channels. ChannelMagnet acts as the user's personal Active Channel enabling the user to build a profile of subscribed channels and areas of interests. ChannelMagnet then collects and organizes the filtered results allowing users to view all relevant webcast content from a single Active Channel.

The preview release of ChannelMagnet 1.0 is available for free at CompassWare's web site, http://www.compassware.com/channelmagnet .

Internet Explorer 4.0 contains hundreds of channels including the Wall Street Journal Interactive, Fortune and Forbes magazines, Warner Bros. Online, Disney, National Geographic, Wired, The New York Times, MSNBC News and ESPN SportsZone. Push technology and access to these and other Active Channels on the user's desktop is a great breakthrough for both content providers and users. ChannelMagnet builds on the Active Channel capabilities in Internet Explorer 4.0 by monitoring all channels and attracting the most relevant, personalized content based on the user's interests.

"Active Channel content in Internet Explorer 4.0 offers a whole new way to experience the Web," said Kevin Unangst, Product Manager in the Applications and Internet Client Group at Microsoft. "CompassWare provides an intelligent tool for managing the growing number of channels for Internet Explorer 4.0"

"ChannelMagnet complements Internet Explorer 4.0 push technology," commented Scott Gatz, Director of Product Management at CompassWare Development. "With ChannelMagnet, the user is no longer the passive recipient or the active searcher of overwhelming amounts of information. Based on the user's preferences, ChannelMagnet filters and organizes pushed information, significantly decreasing the traditional burden of information retrieval."

ChannelMagnet uses a component of CompassWare's powerful intelligent filtering technology originally introduced in InfoMagnet(TM), the first intelligent knowledge management application for the corporate intranet that leverages all information resources made available to enterprise users.
